Daniella Koontz

Based in DeLand, Florida, I’ve been photographing people and their stories for over two decades, growing alongside the shift from film to digital and building Koontz Photography into a space where creativity, authenticity, and connection thrive.

Though I began my business in 2006, photography has always been more than a job for me. It’s how I process the world, celebrate emotion, and build community. As a mother of four, I’ve learned how to navigate chaos with humor, patience, and flexibility—qualities that shape how I approach every shoot.

My work goes beyond traditional portraits and weddings. I love collaborating with artists, musicians, cosplayers, and offbeat couples who bring their full selves to the creative process. I’ve had the honor of exhibiting work nationally, including the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit Water/Ways.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually painting, exploring museums, or crafting with my kids. I have a deep appreciation for weird, wonderful storytelling—whether it’s sci-fi, folklore, or just the magic of a shared moment. I’m passionate about building up the photography community, and I’m always excited to connect with others who are navigating this wild, beautiful industry with heart.

I joined the PPCF after hearing several of its members speak at various classes. Each time, I was struck by how knowledgeable and approachable they were. For most of my career, I saw other photographers as competition, but joining PPCF changed my perspective entirely. I found a welcoming community of like-minded professionals who share my passion for photography and are eager to share their expertise. Through PPCF, I’ve not only gained lasting friendships but also built a strong network of supportive peers I can turn to for advice and collaboration. Being a part of this group has been invaluable to both my personal and professional growth.
