This course provides photographers with a comprehensive overview of how to professionally photograph a Quinceañera, combining cultural understanding, technical instruction, and guided visual demonstrations. Students will learn the structure and traditions of a Quinceañera and how family dynamics, timelines, and expectations influence photographic coverage throughout the event. Instruction includes pre-event planning, client communication, and ethical considerations when working with minors. Technical topics focus on exposure control, working in mixed and low-light environments, and the effective use of on-camera and off-camera flash to create clean, intentional images while preserving the ambiance of the event. Venue-based lighting scenarios are taught through detailed video examples, lighting diagrams, and PowerPoint images that demonstrate real-world setups and decision-making.The course also includes hands-on instruction for portrait lighting and posing, along with visual demonstrations for event coverage such as dances, toasts, and room details. Emphasis is placed on repeatable workflows, subject comfort, and professional collaboration with assistants and vendors.By the end of the course, participants will have a clear, structured approach to Quinceañera photography that improves consistency, confidence, and overall client experience.

- For hands-on portrait instruction students may bring a camera and lens suitable for portrait photography; however participation without personal equipment is acceptable for observational learning.
- Students are encouraged to bring a notebook or digital device for note-taking.
- Optional items include a speedlight and a Godox/Flashpoint trigger compatible with the student’s camera system. All lighting concepts will be demonstrated and explained through visual examples
