PPCF Member Spotlight: Jenny Eggers

For Jenny Eggers, photography is built on intention. As the owner of Jenny E Photography in Ocala, she specializes in personal portraiture, headshots, and branding imagery, creating work that is clean, polished, and deeply connected to the person in front of the camera.
Every element of her process, from light direction and composition to posing and presentation, is carefully considered so that nothing distracts from the subject.
“I care deeply about lighting, composition, and polish,” she says. “Every choice supports the person in front of the camera.”
Over time, that consistent attention to detail has become her signature. Strong images, she believes, do not happen by accident. They happen through structure, refinement, and a willingness to slow down when it matters.
From Broadway to the Camera
Jenny’s path to photography began long before she called herself a professional.
After spending ten years in show business, she found herself fascinated by what was happening behind the scenes whenever photographers were working. During her final Broadway show, cast members needed photos for hometown newspapers, so she brought a camera and began experimenting.
Around that same time, a visit to Florida and a boat ride on the crystal-clear Silver River sparked a deeper interest in documenting beauty.
After leaving performing, she enrolled in studio photography classes at a community college and immersed herself completely, taking every photography and graphic design course available.
“That’s where curiosity turned into commitment.”

Turning Curiosity into a Business
Her business developed gradually. After a move and several quiet years, a friend asked her to photograph her one-year-old son. Jenny created a simple process, delivered the images, and was paid with a Target gift card.
That experience planted the seed that photography could become something more.
In 2012, she officially launched Jenny E Photography. Today, her studio in Downtown Ocala serves both personal and professional portrait clients, offering a carefully guided experience from consultation to final artwork installation.
Portraits That Live Beyond the Screen
Jenny operates a high-touch portrait studio focused on creating artwork that clients can live with and enjoy for years.
Portrait sessions begin with consultation and end with installation of finished artwork, reflecting her belief that photographs should live beyond a screen and become part of a family’s daily environment. Her work ranges from family portraits and seniors to maternity sessions, dancers, and pets, all created with the same careful attention to lighting and presentation.
Her professional work includes headshots and branding imagery for individuals and business teams, helping clients present themselves confidently in their careers or businesses.
“No matter the setting, every image is created with intention and designed to serve a clear purpose.”

A Guided Client Experience
That same intentionality carries through her workflow.
Most clients begin with a discovery call, followed by a detailed consultation to plan wardrobe, setting, and usage. In the studio, Jenny photographs tethered so she and the client can refine details in real time.
Portrait clients return for an ordering appointment where artwork is designed and previewed through virtual mockups before being professionally installed.
Clients often expect great photos, but what they remember most is how the experience felt.
“If there’s a common thread, it’s that they felt supported. The photos matter, but the experience makes them possible.”
Investing in Professional Growth
Professional growth has been a major focus throughout her career.
Jenny earned her Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) designation through Professional Photographers of America in 2020 and completed her Master of Photography degree in 2024.
“For me, those designations were never about letters behind my name,” she explains. “They were about growth. I believe there should always be something to reach toward in this industry.”

Designing a Sustainable Photography Business
Building a full-time photography business required more than technical skill.
Early in her career, Jenny operated on a volume-based digital model with low pricing. Opening her first commercial studio in 2018 forced her to take a closer look at her numbers and begin thinking like a business owner.
After joining PPA, she shifted toward a guided, artwork-centered model and aligned her pricing with the value of her work and the experience she wanted to provide.
One of the biggest changes came when she began designing her business around math instead of emotion. Implementing the Profit First system gave her clarity by separating income into specific allocations for expenses, taxes, profit, and owner compensation.
“Profitability wasn’t about working more. It was about designing smarter and letting the numbers support the life I want to build.”
What Jenny values is structure. Consultations are required, expectations are clear, and communication, turnaround times, and payment policies are defined. Those boundaries are not about rigidity. They protect the quality of the client experience and allow her to focus fully on the creative work.
Developing a Recognizable Style
Jenny’s recognizable style developed naturally through repetition and refinement rather than through chasing trends.
By consistently working with controlled lighting, clean composition, and honest expression, she created a body of work that clients began to recognize as her own.
“Trends fade. Light, composition, and honest expression do not.”

The Role of Community
Community has also played an important role in Jenny’s development.
Through Professional Photographers of Central Florida (PPCF), Florida Professional Photographers (FPP), and Professional Photographers of America (PPA), she has found what she describes as quiet accountability.
Being surrounded by photographers who are actively improving their craft and businesses naturally raises the standard for everyone in the room.
As Secretary of PPCF, Jenny also helps support the organization that has played a role in her own growth. She also now serves on the board of directors for the FPP and the PPA.
For photographers earlier in their journey, Jenny’s advice is simple: “Growth usually requires discomfort. Clarity often comes after action, not before it.”
What Jenny values most about PPCF is the balance of connection and professionalism. “You leave inspired and challenged at the same time.” If you haven’t joined already, come to your first PPCF meeting on us! Tell them Jenny inspired you to check out our program.
