Daniella Koontz

I’m a wedding, portrait, and elopement photographer based in DeLand, Florida, serving Central Florida and beyond. I started this business in 2006 as Koontz Photography, and over the years it’s evolved into DellaMorte Photography, a space where creativity, connection, and real moments thrive. The name changed, but the work and the person behind the camera never did.

I’m accredited with Hearts & Lens, reflecting my commitment to photographing people of all abilities with care, empathy, and intention, and creating calm, inclusive environments where clients feel comfortable and truly seen.

I’m a member of PPCF and FPP, currently serving on both boards, as well as a member of the PPA and a vendor with Offbeat Wed and the Rainbow Wedding Network. My work goes beyond traditional portraits and weddings; I love collaborating with artists, musicians, cosplayers, and offbeat couples who bring their full selves to the process. My photography has been published internationally, including in Illusion Magazine, Photoshop Creative, The Steampunk User’s Manual, and the Smithsonian Blog, and exhibited nationally as part of the Smithsonian’s traveling exhibit Water/Ways.

I donate my time each year to organizations doing meaningful work in West Volusia, including the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia and Foundations to Freedom, supporting people facing homelessness, addiction, and battery.

As a mother of four, I’ve learned to navigate chaos with humor, patience, and flexibility, qualities that shape every shoot I do. When I’m not behind the camera, I’m painting, exploring museums, or crafting with my kids. I’m passionate about building up the photography community and connecting with others navigating this wild, beautiful industry.

I joined the PPCF after hearing several of its members speak at various classes. Each time, I was struck by how knowledgeable and approachable they were. For most of my career, I saw other photographers as competition, but joining PPCF changed my perspective entirely. I found a welcoming community of like-minded professionals who share my passion for photography and are eager to share their expertise. Through PPCF, I’ve not only gained lasting friendships but also built a strong network of supportive peers I can turn to for advice and collaboration. Being a part of this group has been invaluable to both my personal and professional growth.
